I have googled and found some scanned service manual stuff for this scope, but I can't find a users/operator's manual.

I'm helping out a friend. He says it's a Philips, but the web says it's a Fluke.

Has anyone used this scope and do they have any opinions about it?

I'd have to look at work and see if we still have any around, but I know we have had several Fluke / Philips scope models over the years, and I don't recollect any major problems with them. Fluke aquired Philips in the 80's - I think in 83. Your friend might try calling the John Fluke company. The last time I called them for help - John Fluke Jr. himself answered the phone in the tech department - and this was just a few years ago - way after he stepped down as CEO. I found him to be very knowledgable and helpful.

After some googling, I found someone with a manual for $US8.

I seem to have acquired the scope as my colleague thought it was time I owned one.

Seems like quite a nice scope and I have managed to get a pair of HP mini 10:1 probes with it.

The "auto" button is a good way for a beginner like me to cheat.
