Mechanical Counter - Debounce

May I ask:
1.What is the purpose of "5W reed-switch" in respect to your circuit?
2.What is the "160 ohm counter"? Is it an electro-mechanical device?

The circuit is designed to count the revolutions on a rotating disc, a magnet is fixed on the disc and as it completes a revolution it operates the reed switch.. operating the counter. I already have 5w reed switches

And yes the counter is electro mechanical with a coil resistance of 160 ohm

1.6 Million Complete Revolutions or if necessary two lots of 800,000

Assuming your reed-switch spec (at full-load =0.4A) is better than 1.6million makes-breaks,using it to switch the counter directly is possible(at 0.15A the number will be higher)

You can omit the Tr. and use the reed switch directly :

Ha! You guys can create a new forum section called the "Penalty Box". Then with a little "Auto-Scan" software magic the software will seek out duplicate topics and lock them in the penalty box for a week. Like serving after school detention!

I created two threads as they were for two different projects, the initial counter used a butterfly contact and a metal strip to activate the counter.

The next project adapted the original circuit to operate via a reed switch.
