MOSFET amp. help

can any one tell me the advantages and disadvantages of MOSFET based amplifiers. now days a lot of products are in the market which r having MOSFET amps. some say that Mosfets get damaged easily and recommend IGBJTs. can any one help out with my query.

Yeah, by the way, I know what FETs are, but what are MOSFETS?

The major restriction with MOSFET's is the high VGS. This could also prove useful.
