Multicolor fading leds

So my idea for this project is to build a candelabrum with leds with 7 "satellites" composed by multicolor leds that may vary is color fading from time to time...
I need help in how to realise this my idea beacuse i don't know much about electronic... i think using an 555 in astable operation and i'd like to use 220 VAC to power up the circuit with yhe had one rectification and regulation. So anyone could help me starting pleasE

So audioguru thanks for the answer... now how about to switch the "illuminated" leds? i think i could use an astable with 555 linked to a decade counter... is this possible?

The circuit I posted slowly brightens and fades the LEDs.
What and why do you want to switch?
Do you want the "satellites" to turn on in sequence like in a chaser?

Then you have satellite #1 brighten and fade then turn off while satellite #2 brightens and fades then turns off while satellite #3 ..... etc. Is that what you want?

It's +/- like that... What i want is that all satellites brighten and fade then turn off and another led becomes on and brighten and fade then the other... i would use 5 leds in each satellite and i would like that all leds rotate between itself.

Since it would be complicated to switch fading LEDs and you are a noobie, why not just make the fading portion of your circuit now. Then make it switch from LED to LED later.

i have already done this part of circuit now i want to accouple that to another circuit to do the other thing...

Now you need to make a chaser circuit with an oscillator and a CD4017 sequenceing IC.
Then you need some kind of gating for the transistors that drive the LEDs to turn them off by the chaser.

the chaser i have already built to... my question is... need i to do one fade circuit for each led?

If you want only one set of LEDs to be lighted at a time, then only one fading opamp circuit is needed. Then it can be connected to each output transistor in sequence with CD4066 analog gates that are turned on by the chaser circuit.
