Hello,
First off, I must express my complete ignorance of topics in this forum.  As I read, am amazed at the discussions and applications.

From my cloud of ignorance on the topic I struggle to articulate the question, but,...

I am looking to power a video-codec peripheral to a computer through EITHER a USB port OR a battery pack.  The video-codec device datasheet shows the following for power requirements:
    AC Voltage 100

If you are connecting to a computer you won't even come close to getting that kind of power.  Typically the power is limited to 500 milliamps at 5 volts for USB 2.0 and 900 milliamps for USB 3.0.  Different models may vary but that's around 2.5 to 4.5watts  .
