Hm. Just looked it up, apparently there's no such word. Well, let's
make up a new one, what the heck. Anyway, I was looking for this
article that my psycho client pointed out to me the other day; he
wanted me to proofread his response. He's an avid warrior: "Those
Muslims are _directed_ by their _Q'uran_ to KILL the INFIDEL! THEY
MUST BE STOPPED!" and that kinda shit. The article merely notes that
there might be secret plans to cut and run from Iraq, to which,
personally, I say it can't happen soon enough, but this guy (my
client) was ready to come to blows with me for not agreeing with
him!
He asked me what's a "neoconservative". He cops to conservative,
but when I said "a nazi in a republican suit", he just kind of
went gray and slunk into his office. This after gently insisting
that I wouldn't fight with him, and if somebody decides to drop
a nuke at Long Beach, there ain't a fuckin thing I can do about
it anyway, so where's the profit in frothing at the mouth and
giving myself apoplexy? He decided I just don't give a shit.
Luckily, a shred of sanity intruded and I didn't provoke him
further by saying, "Actually, I give a shit a _lot_, but
there's nothing I can do about the warmakers, and you're just
plain wrong."
Here's the article that got his knickers all in a bunch:
http://www.suntimes.com/output/novak/cst-edt-novak20.html
So, supposedly Bush is going to pull the troops out unexpectedly
and be the hero to peaceloving folks worldwide, and even Kerry
can't use that against him to campaign, because he plans to
do the same thing!
On another note, during my search, some kind of political quiz
popped up, at the Christian Science Monitor, of all things:
(just now, while looking for that, this availed:
javascript:OpenPopUp('/2004/0922/csmimg/cartoon.jpg','cartoon','width=420,height=318,toolbar=0,menubar=0,scrollbars=0,resizable=0,status=0,location=0,alwaysRaised=yes');
eek. Let me know if that doesn't work. It's at
http://www.csmonitor.com/ , the link is "today's cartoon"
near the bottom of the first page)
anyway...
http://www.csmonitor.com/specials/neocon/quiz/neoconQuiz.html
It scored me as an "Isolationist." If a man refrains from breaking
down his neighbor's door and holding his family at gunpoint,
does that make him an isolationist?
Have Fun!
