Hello,

Is there somebody who can mail me images of the utility and system diskette for a Philips Logic analyzer PM3585.
If a scanned manual or service manual is available, I will be gratefull.

Regards, DI

DI,

Did you ever get the disks and user manual for the Philips PM3585? I have the disks but need the manual. I'd be happy to send you copies of the disks I have (ver 1.1). I know there are new releases out there but I cannot find them.

If you did I would really appreciate getting a copy of the manual and if you have newer disks I'd appreciate those too.

Thanks for any help you, or anyone can provide.

Mike,

Is it possible for me to get those images for the disc from you? Thanks

I am looking for a system disk as well for my PM3585. I have the following if anyone is in need:

V1.03 Utility disk
V1.01 6809/E settings
V1.01 68000/10 disassembler
V1.02 6800/2/8 Disassembler
V1.01 6800/2/8 Disassembler
V1.02 6809 Disassembler
V1.03 Graphics Workshop

I also have an original manual I would be happy to scan in exchange for disk images.

Thanks!

I have the version 2.1 systems disk, mouse disk and utilities disk and scans of the manual. I tried to include a copy in this post and i will send them to anybody who asks. I am looking for the GPIB 488 disk. Does anybody have that?

I found out here:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/philips-pm3585-add-gpib-option/
That you can install 3 IC;s SN75160, SN75161 and a TMS9914 to get the GPIB option. No software is required. I tried it and it worked really well. Does anybody know if there are Labview drivers or other software to support this feature?

Hello,

do you still offer the contents of the disks above? I've just purchased a PM3585 and I'm looking for everything making it useful. I'd be interested and I would like to offer the contents of the disks that came with mine (8085/8086/8088 - not tested yet).
In addition to the disassemblers you're offering above I'm looking especially for 6502/Z80/68000 disassemblers.
Thank you.

Hola a todos, les agradecería que me enviaran los discos, me dieron uno que estaba en un trastero sin nada, sin cables, sin discos.

muchas gracias

Hi everyone, I would appreciate it if you could send me the discs, they gave me one that was in a storage room with nothing, no cables, no discs.

thank you so much

Hello,
is anyone still here who has the PM3585 with GPIB running?
I have added the interface chips but the interface appears inactive.

Many thanks, I do have the manuals. I cannot get the GPIB interface responding even though I have added the chips, activated IEEE and set the GPIB address. I wonder if I have the wrong firmware.

I also experienced some disappointment. In the config screen, the IEEE icon appeared and i could configure it. But the best i could do with Labview sending standard IEEE 488 commands was get it to return a null. So, it is there and seems to communicate. Normally IEEE returns error or you can at least get a status. I get the impression that they did not finish implementing it.
I had envisioned using Labview to completely control the unit and I was ready to write the driver. What i would really like is a program that takes the captured data and exports it to something like excel or displays it on a large screen showing multiple logic lines.
PS, there is a disk there that updates the firmware to allow you to use the mouse, set the date and move files on the disk.

Do you get a response to *IDN? via your IEEE interface?
Somewhere I read that there was an IEEE upgrade kit by Philips. I wonder if this included a set of new EPROMs.
I'm aware of the Util disk. I used it after replacing the battery. The mouse is working fine. Unfortunately, there is only one RS232 interface, so I can either use the mouse or communicate via RS232, but not both at the same time. Therefore, GPIB would be very nice.
Communication via RS232 works fine though, but rather slow at max 19k2 baud.
Btw, I wrote a windows software to convert screen dumps to bmp or jpg. Might be useful for others, too, see attached result.

I tried all the popular IEEE commands about a year ago and recall that one of them returned something. I hoped that the SCPI Manual would help, so I bought a copy of the on ebay and scanned it for others. I tried my best to get some results, but eventually lost interest. During that time, I did a lot of digging but could not find any info on the IEEE port other than it was an option for some models. I have enclosed a datasheet that has all the available software debuggers, sockets and other options.
In the utilities folder, there are 3 dos programs, 2 convert files to gif and one converts the stored data into a file. I remember using them many years ago, but have not done any recent experiments. There is a file there that completely describes the file format, so it would be possible for an experienced programmer to make a desktop viewer.
