It can, but whether it makes sense or not depends on what kind of LCD you are talking about. Numeric display, alphanumeric, graphics?
If you are talking about multiple graphics LCDs, I would use something like a raspberry PI rather than a microcontroller. Microcontrollers typically have very little RAM, the 16f877a has only 368 bytes. Not enough for much information on multiple LCDs.
