Hi,
I need to move a 2m long arm (like a tower crane) parallel to the ground.
To get a tolerance of about 100:1, I am considering using a 100:1 ratio NEMA 23 stepper/reducer connection system which will be connected to the arm via a 3:1 ratio pinion and pulley (as shown in the link below). Two tenths [(1.8/ 100/3)/360*(2*3.14*2000)] I hope the calculation is correct.

Does anyone have experience with this type of transmission? Is the stated backlash (≤25) measured on the input or output shaft? What is the probability that the resolution at the end of the arm is close to 5?
Thanks
