I bought a new 1080 oscilloscope, online, and when it arrived it has a banana plug port on the back that wasn't in any of the pictures. can anyone tell me what this port is for and what signal or equipment is supposed to hook up to it? Is it a function port? or a single input, or a driver plug? The confusion is ridiculous

Can you show us a picture. Preferably also show us a picture or give us more information so we know what a "1080 oscilloscope" is.

Did you get an owner's manual with this buy, or can you contact the seller to ask what it's for?
If it's 'new', new. I would assume it has a manufacturer's description of it in a manual or on-line.
If it's 'new' to you, but owned by somebody else previously, they may have modified it for some specific test
purpose that the previous owner had a need for.
