Power backup

An old 800 W eliminator power pack battery is cooked.

Would like to take the inverter out and hook it to a large marine battery to use it for power outages not sure on the wiring process I do not want display radio or light just the inverter and the battery and 110 output, with an off switch.

What you have seems to be a simple inverter. DC power input on the thick red (positive) and black (negative) wires. You MUST use a fuse (30A) in the red lead.

Connect to the battery and switch on. You should, if the unit is working, get AC at the sockets. Make sure you reconnect that loose yellow/green earth wire.

Most importantly of all THERE IS LETHAL VOLTAGE AT THE OUTLET SOCKETS. Proceed at your own risk.

To connect it to a large marine battery, you need to ensure voltage compatibility and use appropriate gauge cables. Connect the inverter terminal to the positive terminal of the battery and the negative terminal of the inverter to the negative terminal of the battery.
