question about 2N2222

Well I have a funny question. Can a 2N2222 be used to switch a continuity or open and close (for a continuity test from a voltmeter) just the circuit just to pass a lower voltage than the one needed to make it operate? Thanks for reading my question................Pat

A 2N2222 does not turn on all the way down to zero ohms, so yes there is a limit on the low side. It will not tolerate voltages over a certain voltage, so yes there is a limit on the high side also.
