'Join' under what circumstances?
Indoors, outdoors, fixed, flexible ?
Inline crimps, chock block, resin-set, terminal box? twist, solder, heat-shrink?
Soldering is acceptable under some circumstances and won't melt if the conditions are met.
Depends on what kind of wire the cable is made from. Aluminum cannot be soldered but can be welded under a tungsten inert gas shield (TIG welding). Copper is easily soldered without melting the copper. Both metals can be joined by mechanical pressure fittings, although copper-to-aluminum joints are subject to electrolytic corrosion because of the dissimilar metals.what is the preffered method to re-join a 3x 1.5mm2 cable?
hi!
what is the preffered method to re-join a 3x 1.5mm2 cable?
I understand you cannot solder it since it could get hot and melt.
thanks!
