Trace Repair Wire?

Hi, just a generic question about the proper wire and guage for a pcb trace repair? (small IC).
I've seen all kind of sizes 0.1 mm to 0.50mm or 24 AWG to 34 AWG?
Can someone recommend the kind of wire shielded or non and magnetic wire copper? or other.

anything in that range would be OK, keeping in mind the current and voltage on the damaged track
just plain copper or tinned copper wire
if it's a length that takes it close to other components across the board,
then plastic/teflon coated wire if recommended

For traces that carry heavier currents I have used the copper braid, IOW, solder wick .
