Any ideas on how to fix this watch?

It has no lettering except copyright and patent pending remarks.

This unique watch was found in an antique store today.
It seems to not have a battery and instead has a series of orange sponge like material between metal. In the pic you can see a yellow wire on one end of the series and a white on on the other end.

It is completely sealed except for six small holes you can see in the side pictures. The silver (transitor?) reads S692.

I appreciate any help because a google search produced nothing substantial.

Your pictures aren't visible. Try posting as .png files.

Thank you! The person at the antique shop gave it to me for free. And it works!

I am just imagining the store owner carefully drying it out, and then assuming it was water damaged when it stopped working.
