USB voltage question

hi everyone!

got a question hope you could help me with my project, i am hooking up a fan
for my laptop computer coz it always heats up fast, my question is how can
i power-up a 12 volt fan using my notebook USB connection. coz as i know
USB only uses 5v dc.

Hi casdale,

The 12V fan might not crank up at all on 5V, it depends on the fan. Furthermore the use of 5V from the USB will increase the heat in your laptop even more.

Get a 5V fan that is rated within the current specs of the USB port.
