Using a power supply salvaged from a DVD player

Hi. I have a power supply from a DVD player which has 2 grounds, 5V+, 12V+, 12V- and another 5V+
and another pin for CN

1)  what is the cn pin for?
2) Can I tap into the 12V+ and 12V- and make a junction to have 9V + and 9V- what components will I need?
3) Can, and if so what should I do to have 5V- and what components will I need?
