Variable power supply LED indicator

I have put together a variable power supply between 1 and 30Volts, Included on the output is an on off switch, I want to incorporate an LED to show when it is on, how do I go about this.

is there only an on/off switch on the output?

We would need schematics or pictures at the very least to tell you for sure

The simple answer is a LED and an appropriate resistor running from the unregulated DC. But that makes assumptions that GreenGiant (perhaps justifiably) did not want to make.

A double pole switch comes to mind. Run the LED off the input to the regulator. But why would you only switch the output anyway?
