Never tried them.
Seems are meant to insert a smart phone in them to view its screen, perhaps with some application running.

Does such application splits the screen into two images to allow binocular vision ?

If a compact monitor or television could fit in them; would the screen be viewable ?

Do you know of any way to feed external wired composite video to a smart phone; or a model that has such video input jack feature ?

ok so how do they work
a container is made with lenses to focus each eye onto half the screen, Yes the screen is split into 2.
the part that makes it feel 3d is there is a slight camera angle change, giving 2 perspectives of the same item.
if you put a normal screen in there yes it would be visible to a point. as stated half the screen is seen with each eye, so you would have to make something that splits the screen or your eyes would hurt
lastly why the heck would you feed rca to a phone????? why not feed it to your computer and using wifi view the item... but even then you would need a program to split the item up so your eyes don't hurt

as for Davenn, was it the rollercoaster one??? lol

Thank you, gentlemen. Good explanation, donkey. Now I know.

I have my very good reasons; because am not going to carry a computer way outdoors to see nothing on its screen under sunlight glare to watch a wired cctv camera inserted into crevices and pipes underwater. WiFi - no thanks.

Will have to come up with a funnel visor that will craddle my portable 7" TV with video input and no split screen applications... ;)

Ok so for this you just make the screen further from your face so each eye can view the whole screen.
Also try aeeing if anyone has an rca to wifi or bluetooth adapter. This may solve some issues
