I'm thinking something with two buttons, open/closed that I can stick independently on the stick knob where my fore and middle fingers can access. Something small with I can stick on it.

Is there something like this or something "bare bones" and small I can fabricate to stick onto the stickshift you guys have seen?

Want a particular switch to cutoff my auto ac . . . .to stick onto the stick shift?

Sounds like some stooooooopid " jury rigging " to me, of course I no longer have the mindset of a 16 YO.
Why can't you just reach up and turn it OFF in the original manner . . . . . . . JUST prior to your max revving up of the
engine and burning up rubber in your drag race take off.

Sorry, but I am not sure what you are trying to achieve?

Do you have a manual car with a floor mounted gear change shift and want to turn the air conditioning off and on with switches on the gear lever?

Yes.

"Since the Engine Control Unit (ECU) does not manage the compressor in this system, revving your engine to 8000 RPM when your air conditioner is on can lead to a serious problem. Without an automatic shut-off mechanism, the compressor will also spin at 8000 RPM. This excessive speed can cause the compressor to explode, mirroring the potential damage to your engine if it were to be pushed to 10,000 RPM.

You could use a vacuum switch to turn off the AC when the manifold vacuum drops, indicating you are accelerating.

To ensure the proper functioning of your system, it's essential to install both low-side and high-side vacuum pressure switches. If you attempt to restart the system a few minutes after shutting it down while it's still hot, there's a risk of a pressure spike that could damage the compressor, or cause seals to rupture. High-side pressures may also skyrocket if the evaporator freezes or if the refrigerant is overfilled, pushing all the refrigerant from the low-side into the high side.
Remember, the A/C system does more than just cool the air; it plays a vital role in the Climate Control system, working with the heater to regulate temperature and humidity, essentially shaping the “climate” inside your vehicle.Don’t forget about defrosting!
Why stop at just two switches? Consider adding six to your stick shift for enhanced functionality!
What say you @hexreader

Seems ridiculous then for manufacturers to cut-in and cut -out via a simple thermostat.....think you need to re-visit auto air con 101.
Any required protection is already built in to a working system.

I'm looking for a low profile switch like this but normally closed/"on", where on the WWW can I find one? Here

Or help me DIY it please. I'm gonna affix it to my stick shift to turn off AC when I take off in my 96 Chevy S10 teeny weeny but zippy without AC truck.

Now that I think of it, I could sandwich a plastic spring between the two AC wires under some tape bandage tape and stick it in the shift knob where my index finger hangs out most up to 3rd gear. Or you guys found a $5 off alibaba for me or know of a secret stash of rare switches. Thanks

I understand why you want a two-button teeter-totter type of switch, but you will have waaaaay more options if you go with a slide switch.

Another option is a rocker switch with an oversized actuator. Often these are a slide switch internally.
