I've recently just got this set of crimping connectors from Ebay <link>.
Have a look at image 2 on that page. I have a Knipex multicrimp tool with a proper tool that put marks just like in the picture and the wire used also fit into that crimp connector.
However, in practice it turns out that the crimping connectors doesn't keep the wire properly, so I can easily pull it out after crimping. Probably the crimping connectors is just too soft a material.
However - I do have a hexagon ferrule crimping tool, using that tool make an almost perfect result. The drawback using that tool however, is that the wire on at least one side of the crimp connector must be fully retractable through the ferrule crimping tool.
That is - as long as one wire can be pulled all the way back through the crimp tool after splicing, all is well and good.
I tested 3 of the replaceable mouth pieces on my Knipex multicrimp tool, but with no great success (material too soft, also when using the mouth piece for wire ferrules).
Any idea what other crimping tool may give the best result for these splicing connectors ?
