  1. hi david ! thanks for the answer .anyway can u tell me what is the deciding factor for us to tell if we require maximum power transfer or maximum voltage transfer as say in case of audio amp we go for max.voltage transfer while for RF amp we go for max power transfer? ???thanks in advance
  2. hi audioguru! in this case too we dont need impedance matching infact we need max. voltage transfer.right? ;D what is the diff b/w RF and audio in that case i.e why no standing waves? is it known ?
  3. yes sir! thats the age of miniaturization! ;D certainly a thryristor controlled power supply would be better than a bulky motor for a variac. we can certainly control thyristors through controllers (micro) feeding power to the lamp! this world is going to shrink one day!!!!1 ;D
  4. hi audioguru! i guess changing the frequency ideally wont have effect on the brightness but practically would have. I guess all of us know that on a 50 Hz mains supply a bulb turns on and off 50 times a second.it would turn of once a second if it were 1Hz.and turning on and off once a second cant be sudden!isnt it? another approach would be to use a waveform which changes firing angle of a thyristor in every second, this way it would dissipate varying power in each cycle and hence glow with a varying intensity. or a microcontroller controlled motor rotating a variac supplying the power to the bulb! hey which one seems best?
  5. hi audioguru! that means we are interested in maximum voltage transfer from source to load than maximum power transfer in audio circuits. But why is it so,as far as i ve studied we always prefer max power transfer from source to load? ???plz do reply! i am surprised
  6. with a standard lab tool programmer fill a preplanned data at all locations in the RAM say : AA BB CC DD EE FF GG HH II JJ KK LL MM NN OO PP QQ RR SS TT UU VV WW XX YY ZZ and retrive it through a microcontroller into your PC as a text file( a notepad document) Wouldnt that be interesting if u r a newbie? its simple! 8)
  7. but this does not explain that why do we need higher frequency or nth harmonics of the fundamental than what is required. ;D i.e your own question why dont we adopt a crystal of same value and why of a higher one?
  8. hi audioguru! All same upto the stage i explained and an additional power amp at o/p across the load.would that serve? u r correct! power would be less but impedance matching is also important. power amp in the end would it serve the job?do u personally approve it? ;D ;D ;D
  9. first link sent by steven clears that lower cloud is -ve and ground is +ve. so how come -ve lightening? ??? ???
  10. 2- when the oscillator has a common-base Amplifier the crystal is placed in base(or Gate if mosfet). WHY? it is connected to base because we can exploit transistors high value of beta(B) to use it as a good amplifier only in this configuration. integral multiples and not same value is used to avoid frequency distortion which may push it away from resonance
  11. you can use a transformer with a turns ratio which is given by (N1/N2)`2=10k/8. take square root and turns ratio is approx 35:1.connect 8ohm speaker to the secondary and all would be fine! ;D comments from others?
  12. for such a project one needs to be a jack of whole mobile software and hardware. In the begining i thought of producing a beep on my computer connected to my mobile through datacable when i recieve any sms on the mobile but i could not what changes take place inside that black box when an sms is recieved. Finally as it was too small to probe i backed out.Any way good luck ,its no doubt an excellent project! ;D ;D ;D
  13. they look like colourful toy balloons but still there would be a reason for them ;D ;D ;D
  14. hi kain! no orcad is very very user friendly as far as i know. its just pick and place and all features of protel too. u can autoroute a PCB giving just foot prints, isnt it friendly? ;D ;D ;D
  15. hi audioguru! where can i connect this neon bulb and high value resistor.is there any method to measure the polarity using my lightening conductor.hey i guess i can measure the direction or current flow in the lightening current of my building but how? through an electrolytic cap? ;D
  16. hi u all! is there any experiment which can prove that the earth is positive with respect to the lower cloud on a rainy day? or is it mere a convention?can we actually measure this? ;D
  17. hi mixos! what are these contests? plz let the other members know also!!!! ;D ;D ;D
  18. are u interested in mobile phone hacking kind of thing?or u wish to send a message from a WAP device as SMS? ;D
  19. hi audioguru! are these antennas easily available? at what frequency do they work as i guess mobile phone frequencies in my country may deviate.we generally put signal boosters which are small pin like devices but they certainly pinch on our pocket money ;D
  20. well guys! i dont see any reason for the mention of time in such a case.dont u think so? we hardly need this parameter. ;D
  21. connect a suitable resistor in series with the load permanently.i.e in between the load and o/p of the charger.however hardly u need any limiting at such low power levels.is it a mobile phone charger.i guess a 1k resistor would do. prateek ;D
  22. this link is taking me to home page of the site.where to go next? no cookies in my computer.help! ;D
  23. HI MP,ALUN! ALTHOUGH we see the forum rules above the certification in which we tick ,i agree,i must confess i did not read it frankly.did u read alun? i guess most of us didnt. so whats the solution for that? are they posted anywhere on the site?
  24. in all cases u need a good hand in programming buddy! ;D
  25. hi tnk2k! dont u think that the principle of operation of this too is same as i told.could u please explain it.actually it is not given how the LEDs flash. thanks, prateek
