Jam75 Posted January 27, 2005 Report Share Posted January 27, 2005 We recently bought an hpofficejet 4215 all-in one, it prints but for some reason we have failed to send or receive faxes. We called tech supprt, we were not assisted at all. Something to do with "distinctive device" anyways, anyone with another way to solve my problem.Any ideas? felto Posted January 27, 2005 Report Share Posted January 27, 2005 That has something to do with your phone line that needs distintive device so that your fax can understand your phone line when it is sending a fax. Look into your phone modem options in control panel and there should be something in there about distintive ring.
