My Guitar pickup toggle switches

hey I have a Vantage guitar with three pickup, 3 toggle switches, 1 volume switch and 1 tone switch. Two of the toggle switches are damaged and I need to have them replaced, can anyone tell me what type of switches I need to do the replacing? By the way the switches seems to be smaller that the regular guitar toggle switches, are they 2-way or 3-way switches and are they on-on-on or on-off-on

How do you expect us to help you? You gave given neither the model of the guitar nor any useful hint to the switches. This information would be most helpful in identifying the switches and recommending possible replacements.

Sorry Mate, it is a Vantage guitar I do not know the model but the number printed on the metal plate is E627813. Hope that this will be of some help

actually, you can just go to any shop bringing your toggle switches as an example and buy those switches that matches yours.

The advice above this post is probably good, but in direct answer to your question, when you reply you use the "Advanced" option and you will see more tools. One looks like a paperclip. That will allow you to attach photos.

Ok folks, I attached two pics one of the actual guitar and one of the toggle switches on the reverse side. I do not know it they are On - Off - On switches of On - On - On switches there is where I need the help as two of them are damaged (actually one is totally out of commission), any help in this respect will be welcomed.

Hi Steve, I cannot find the match at any of the electronic stores here where I live so I want to buy them online but want to get the best replacements. I've seen switches online but there are the on-on-on and the on-off-on, as I am new to this and it is a guitar I found thrown down in a corner that I am refurbishing I want the best replacements that will give me the best possible output

As long as the switch is correctly connected it's not going to have a significant impact on the quality of the sound.

The only exception I can think of might be due to hum introduced while you touch the switch.

If you change the switches, take a note of exactly where each wire goes before you disconnect anything.

Then change only 1 switch at a time.

After you remove one switch, ensure you know how the contacts are arranged and how they correspond to the new switch.

Then wire up the new switch and make sure everything is fully functional (with that switch) before moving on to the next one.

Your image is not very well focussed, so it's hard to give any specific advice.

Do you have a music store which sells instruments near you? They may be able to get you the replacements you need. It may cost a little more, but you can be fairly sure they will do the job.

Those switches have six pins arranged as 3x2, and three positions, right? Then they're probably double-pole ON-OFF-ON switches. Look at the one that you've removed to see whether there are any markings stamped into the metal. Often, they will be marked with ON on both sides.

Thanks Steve. Yes there is a music store in town so I will check it out. The problem with the image is that its in a small space and I could not get a better angle to focus the camera. Once again thank you man

Hi Kris, the markings are not very clear on the damaged ones, guess I will have to take a look at the undamaged one. It appears to me that someone was trying to do some repairs but then abandoned the effort and dumped the instrument. Yes I have a multimeter (just bought it)
