I am new to electronics and building circuits. I want to try something out and I need to figure out how a toy like the tickle me elmo voice or when you press a button on a little truck and it makes an engine or horn noise. For instance how do they put the sound on the chip? What is the name of the chip? I would be greatful for any help. Thank you.

That site looks good as well. I am trying to mess around and learn with these recording modules and some of them seem expensive to mess up. I also want to make it loop I found this for looping

http://www.instructables.com/id/Looper/

Also I am trying to add a sound not a voice. Like you would see in any push button toy. I found a few that can connect to a pc with USB and drop a sound on there.

well you just record a sound instead of a voice :)

that should have been kinda obvious ;)

Well yeah I figured that but the quality of sound has to have a big difference with an external mic or a USB wave file.
