Potting/encapsulating material

I am replacing some drivers in an ECU on a boat motor and it had some type of encapsulating compound in it when I took it apart. Looking for suggestions of what to use and where to acquire a product to reseal after I finish the repair. Thanks.

It's not clear from your post whether the material is a conformal coating or more. If you google tbat and potting compound, you'll find plenty of information.

It is a clear amber color soft material when trying to pull the old away it crumbles. It is from a 2000 model ecu. Not sure if that helps any

uhhh looks nice. I think it looks like hardened wax or something like that. See what the other guys think.

Well I have never seen such a mess. It could be some kind of thick conformal coating?

looks more like Araldite or similar .... anyway .... go get a tube or 2 of a non-acidic type of silicon sealer
and go for broke

What I see in your pictures looks like polyurethane potting compound. They're often used in automotive applications.

Where would I find a small amount of that and would I need to remove most or all of the stuff currently on there before repotting?
