Here is my evenings attempt LOL. I have tried not to over complicate it. I haven't yet added the sense terminals, need to work that out. Now I don't know what voltages your transformer will put out so I have based this on a 15 V input. At the moment the max voltage is 13.5 Volts and the max current is 1 Amp. This can be tweaked if needed. All the components are critical and it's just what came to mind and what I had in the spice library. I have labelled the circuit with all the major parts. See what you think.
Thanks
Adam

Well as mentioned in post 1 the transformer can provide 36volts and 6 amps. After taking a glimps on this circuit i noticed the power transistors. how about using the 2N3055 and lm741 or lm318?

Well I hope you took more than a glimpse at the circuit after I spent my evening designing / drawing it for you :)

Sure you can change the OP-amps, it would be better to use rail to rail output types so you get max voltage output. Changing the output transistors is also not a problem, but changing them to higher power types will require a larger base current to achieve max output current.

You just have to make sure the first drive transistor can supply this amount of current, and also the OP-amp driving the first drive transistor can supply enough base current. If I get time I might look at making this on a proper PCB and see how it works. I need to sense terminals and current limiting LED. I am also thinking of adding a brown out detection circuit for power outage.

Thanks
Adam

Dont get me wrong i jast have not time to study the circuit at the moment because of work and familly (wife, children).
Thank you so much for your efford and for the time you spend !

I found this diagram on-line but can it handle 2-36 volts 6amps ? i am not sure.
Your design is much better though.

Did you mean are NOT critical?:)
I really like this Adam. Let me check it properly and see where we can improve this.:p
Hehe...

Martin

LOL yeah non-critical, thanks for the offer sweetie. Please any suggestions other than you can do this with an LM317 :)

Not sure, do you have the link of the website? We are yet to know how well mine will work until we have built it. I think over the next few weeks I am going to do a PCB layout and when I have the money I'll get a PCB made.

You said you wanted to order the pcb when you have monay. I offered to do it for free. Without monay.
Since you help me all the time, you know out of courtesy.
Ok maybe only 5-6 euro for the shipping.

P.S. i would love it if you could use Express PCB to make the layout !
