Sound level meter up to 165dB

Hi all,

This may be the wrong place, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a sound level meter that can go up to 165dB? We are interested in testing our pistols, which should in theory be between 150-165 dB, depending on the calibre.

I Doubt you will find one for That LOUD.
Just move Further away.
Possibly take readings at 3 or 4 different distances and than you should be able to graph it for other distances.

Didn't see that Part.
So Basically they are Restricting Sound with a smaller opening to get those readings.
About the same as moving further away

no, they are using a different microphone ... more rugged, to handle the higher sound level

have a read of the text ... it tells all
