I know how a regular size LED lights look like. Just look at the top right corner of your Android smart phone, while it is charging. Red for charging, green for 100% complete. But what does a street LED light emiiting diode look like?

..... and it isn't a single LED; it's an array of LEDs on a heatsink.

Yeah, many LEDs and what it looks like depends on who made the LED(s), the carrier, and the entire light. Generally it's going to be modules of several LEDs on metal mPCBs, bolted/screwed/riveted/clamped/whatever to the heatsink which is more often integrated as the cast metal housing.
