Hello, I need to power GTX 3090 24GB on my HP Z820 (1125 W PSU), because davinci needs more ram, so I got GPU with more ram, used 3080 12GB before.

My Z820 has 3x 6pin connectors, and I have 3x HP adapters to 8pin. N1G35AA
The service manual lists the power supply as

"Up to two 300 W or three 225 W graphics cards with optional 1125 W power supply (other
configuration restrictions may be required)"

Each 6-pin PCI connector is rated at 18A capacity

So that totals up top 225W x 3 = 675W or 300W x 2 = 600W
Since I use onlu one PCIE slot that makes 675W - 75W= 600W or 600W - 75W = 525W

The 3090 24GB can pull 350W TDP (some lists MAX 420W???).

Now my question is about the HP converter N1G35AA, it has one ground pin missing in the 8pin side, why?
The PSU cables are rated AWG18, why?

How can you pull 18A using 3x yellow, 3x black AWG18 wires?

But 18 amp maximum capacity must be derated when used in a raceway, trunked or bundled.
The PSU cables are rated AWG18 because they are designed to carry a maximum current of 18A
Also be mindful of the AWG 18 length of wire, although it does not change the ampacity or current rating of the wire, voltage drops , I^R, losses occur.
