I have a FUGEN laptop cooling pad, and I want to upgrade it by installing a faster motor, adding additional battery backup, and replacing the USB-A ports with USB-C ports. I am completely new to electrical projects. Can anyone help me out?IMG_20240621_130004589.jpg

I am afraid that replacing the motor directly with a faster one may not work. Because the circuitry inside the cooling pad maybe compatible with the speed of the existing motor. If you can see the model numbers of all the components, you can see the datasheets to find out the specs first.

i would like to construct a whole new circuit to handle the new motors , external battery and ports

More powerful motors would produce more fan noise and deplete battery charge faster. Are you ok with that?

yes, for the noise part, i would like to add a speed controller, like it have currently.

Yeah. That will be good. I can see in your photo, there is a small PCB. If you want to design an advanced PCB by yourself for this project, you can see here: https://www.theengineeringprojects.com/2024/06/advanced-manufacturing-materials-for-pcb.html

I don't see any control circuitry inside that cooling pad it's only a driver big whoop...it's all about the RPMs and if it's ambient temperature I doubt you'll get more than a few degrees cooler... And a usb-c ain't going to do diddly. No communication handshaking is being done here. But you are novice and I just like to hit threads not marry them.. you just paid for an education. For the price it would cost for an upgrade for which you stated would be more than if you just buy a gaming laptop cooler. From a reputable manufacturer.
