My son asked me to share some details about a project he's working on. He’s purchased four DC motors, an Arduino Teensy, two motor controllers, and an MPU 6050 sensor. He’s been collaborating with someone to build a prototype device capable of independent three-dimensional movement—without the need for remote control.

The goal is for this device to navigate through tight or hard-to-reach areas, such as water pipes or confined spaces in natural or manmade structures. He wants it to operate autonomously because in these environments, signal interference or distance could prevent a remote control from working effectively.

If you’d like more specifics about the parts or the project itself, feel free to reach out.

Forgive me, I thought you were asking for help. I cannot give you an in-depth answer without a detailed question. :)

I’m reaching out about the parts. I can offer you constructive criticism about the project, if you’d like.?

Can we arrange a time to talk on the phone? When's a good time for you? Let me know and I will let my son's dad know and he can give you a call or you can call him. My son is incarcerated and needs someone knowledgeable to work with him to create a prototype for a plumbing project he is working on. His dad will pay that person for their time and contribution.

I admire your concern over your loved one who is incarcerated.

With that said! this is not super secret spy stuff we’re talking about so please do not hesitate answer my question about the type of motors & the two motor controllers, purchased.

Sorry for the delay. My son says the motor drivers are drv8833 motor drivers the gyroscope is a mpu6050 sensor. The teensy is the 4.0 version. The motors are the Craze Pony motors. The blades are the inductrix whoop micro jst variety. If you have any more questions please let me know.

I am trying to make a device that is capable of moving in three dimensions on its own, specifically through a plumbing pipe system or other narrow systems that human beings cannot navigate on there own. I am trying to make a device that can find leaks in a plumbing system, and repair. Can you help me with this?

So far, motors and blades.
Blades that spin are no good for navigating tight spaces. Finding a leak in plumbing systems and repair?.
Are we talking compression or solder fittings?.
Either way, is this vehicle equipped with cameras and wrenches too?.
Sounds completely impossible at the moment.

It's a prototype. I don't know the design may change, but I know it has to move in three dimensions and be resistant to environment conditions: wind, water, electro magnetic etc. From my understanding motors and blades are the best way to do that, but I am open to other ideas. If you're interested, let's set up a time to chat in person. I think that may be better than texting back and forth.
