New user here. I have this VCR and playback, rewind, fast forward still work well. This VCR has a mechanism that slows the fast rewind during the last 1-2 minutes of tape and automatically ejects. The problem is when this fast rewind stops and the cassette is ejected the tape is caught on one of the roller guides. If I stop this rewind before it reaches the end and use the eject button this does not happen. Also, if I use rewind during playback it does not happen. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi :)
It might be possible to get a new tape transport mechanism. Try a spare parts supplier.

You could also try cleaning and lightly lubricating the roller guides. Sometimes friction buildup causes the tape to catch during auto-eject.

You should clean the roller guides and check for worn belts or misaligned parts near the tape path.

Clean or adjust the brake pads, or ribbon, or whatever method it uses to stop.
