My geared stepper motor is getting noisier after prolonged use. How should I maintain it?

Hello everyone,

My geared stepper motor has been used for over a year, and recently the noise has become significantly louder. I've added lubrication, but it hasn't improved.

Does anyone have any good methods to reduce the noise?

Has the motor got a bolt on gearbox or gears in the can?.
What lubricant did you use and where?
Are the gears nylon or metal?
