Hi

Can i get some help with this, i think it got wet and blew this area, looking at whats there do you know where that pin im pointing to routes to to make a repair ?

Sorry, vw up 2012, i will try find electrical diagram of ecu but was banking on the visuals of the structure but i suppose not

Even with all the info, how would you get access to both sides of the circuit board for testing and repairing? Looks as though you've already had to use an angle grinder to expose what's in the posted pics.

Yes, the pin im pointing at is connected to nothing hence the question - is the area that came away not just earth be? doing contiuity across next door and the pin get connection, a beep

This peace shows how its left the board. That pin goes somewhere im trying to know what it talks to

This is really helpful, should i follow the pin back to see what wires talk? Still the picture ive sent where the hole copper connection came away what is that bit?
Only problem ecu connectors are different, do you think pins are relative to each vw model?

I've no idea if that's the case. It looks as though a via (silver-coloured dot) in that section has vanished. It would have connected through the board to some other layer.
So are you saying that this side is where it most likely connects?

The via might have connected to more than the visible layers if the pcb has internal layers. I'm not familiar with ecu boards.

What device is used to clone an ECU and what device is used program an ECU to a vehicle please?

Commercial ECUs will likely have their code protected and unreadable externally by normal means, to prevent cloning.

That is all dependent on the make model year of your vehicle.

Yes.
Many Volkswagen dealerships replace and reprogram ECU’s on a routine basis along with independent automotive repair shops. One thing they do not do is take an angle grinder to the casing to open it.
