Repairing insulation - ebike motor

Long story short, one of my ebike motor's phase wires's insulation is split open and I suspect it's shorting. Normally, I'd use heatshrink to cover up the damaged insulation, but the phase wire is soldered to the phase wires in a big soldered strand bundle, so I don't think I can put heatshrink on.

Is there any other suitable ways to repair the insulation? Otherwise... How can I remove and reattach the strand bundle? I don't have much spare wire to work with. I have a Weller WLC100 - think it's 40W.

Thanks!

Why wouldn't you be able to put some heatshrink tube over the open end of your wire(s)? Looks easy peasy to me. Maybe with some insulating tape around the thinner yellow wire where the heat shrink may not fit snugly otherwise.

Yeah, the open end (the soldered twist of wires) is easy, but I need to repair the yellow wire where the insulation has split. I can't access that part without removing the soldered twist of wires. And I'm not sure I have the tools or skill to remove and reinstall the soldered twist of wires.

Also, I believe heat is a concern, as I understand these hub motors can get fairly warm.

What you could try is to coat liberally with winding varnish the type that is heated and winding dipped in it,'
You may get some at a local winding shop.
Or obtain some silicone insulation tape.
