Removing hard glue from Transformer coils?

Try a hairdryer first. A heat gun may be too hot.

    Benefit from posting projects

Then again, you could put up any old rubbish on youtube, even if it does not have the remotest chance of working. As soon as someone mistakenly thinks that it may be worth looking at, you will have earned your 0.00001 cent. Otherwise, join the "get rich quick by doing nothing or very little" queue.

    Chargers and batteries in series

4 X 6v batteries in series will give you 24Volts. Do you mean you have 2 lots in series, in parallel with each other?

Just lift your arm a couple of inches and turn it off on the dash.

Universal Remote Codes for Sharp TV

I have a box of "universal" remotes, which are supposed to cycle through the codes and when the right one is found, it is supposed to be "set" and good to use. The only thing that is "universal" on these things is that they all don't work! As said above, buy the right one for your TV.

    Ultrasonic cleaner

They are already attached to a stainless rectangular tub. I'll hook up a CRO to see what's going on, I remember the aluminium foil test from my old service days. If it punched little holes through the foil, it went back into service. It's in bits now, so not much to take a picture of. I can...

    Ultrasonic cleaner

I want to use it to clean carburetor parts. The nameplate on the unit says 540 watts, so I am thinking they may be 200 or so watts each. I use a sandblaster and wire wheel to clean my dentures, then bolt them straight back in.

    Ultrasonic cleaner

It is a dental unit, Coltene brand. I can't find any info on it or the transducers, so I am going to "wing it" and use the aluminium foil test to fine tune it.

    Ultrasonic cleaner

I have an ultrasonic cleaner which has a dead control/supply board. Instead of repairing the board I would like to just power up the transducers (they are the flat circular type) and use a timer to switch it. I was thinking of using an oscillator operating at about 40kHz, and run that through...

    SOP14 to DIL14

Thanks, that's just what I needed! I will give them a shot, just have to turn up the voltage on my glasses to see what I'm doing!

    SOP14 to DIL14

Does anyone make a small pcb on which a SOP14 package can be soldered and have external terminations which can be either be plugged into a normal Veroboard rail or DIL IC socket? I can only get a SOP14 package and it is replacing a DIL14 pin IC.

Help To Determine Resistor To Dim Incandescent Light Bulbs

The first one shown will work fine, and you can hook it up on the bench with a taillight globe or similar and try it out. Mount the whole board under the dash where you can still get the control knob.

    Inverter fan question

The fan is probably 12 volts, run it through a 7812 or similar.

    Inverter fan question

Why not just wire it up to the input full time? The electronics will be nice and cool all the time.

    12v regulator / voltage limiter

You could still use a LM317 and just set it at 12v, or a 3 terminal fixed 12V regulator (7812 etc) is cheap, and only needs a couple more parts to give you 12V out all the time. If the input goes below 12v, you will only get that at the output.

    24v to 12v converter

Just try it out. Most of the inverters I have used just won't start up under a certain input voltage, some will beep at you.

Horizon radio reset for power failure....

Buy a new radio. A radio should not be sucking up any voltage. If it does that, you may actually have a vacuum cleaner. Mine sucks up everything-voltage, current, induction, and on a good day, impedance.

General question about 12 volt inverter hookup in vehicle

If you mount the inverter inside the cab, it will make a dandy heater.....unless you live somewhere where you need airconditiong!
