    kitchen gadgets buy

Um...you might better not get me started on this subject. Well, it's already started, but might be better for me not to continue and possibly get somebody all butthurt.

That's nice. It's a Green machine: no need to turn it on and use electricity for it not to do anything.

    How you spend your lockdown?

I found a lot of new tricks and glitches I can exploit in Halo: Combat Evolved, on my original PAL Xbox, the only home console video game l ever got hooked on. It's amazing how many new tricks & glitches you can find on a 20-year-old video game if you spend enough hours. I briefly considered...

    Comedy Thread

No, I think it's part of a library in some university's Ancient Languages Division of the Language Dep't----they didn't have the budget for clay tablets, so they're using bricks for their cuniform students.

I made one, but it can be really hard to get the shelves exactly level. Unless you buy an extra copy of each book.

Napco 900 Security System in need of keypad RPKit-9

Good luck with that--it's been out of production since, as you said, the '80's. Short of a lucky break of finding someone on eBay or similar site, with "new old" stock, you're not going to find a regular parts dealer with what you need. Beware of buying used keypads that old---good chance, if...

Ademco Vista-15P cannot disarm, keypads freeze, stuck in alarm

Glad you were able to resolve the problem. Won't be the fisrt time a rodent trashed a wire, but you might find someone put a staple into a 4-conductor cable when it was first installed. Some problems don't show up for years, after insulation wears through from rubbing as the house shifts.

Ademco Vista-15P cannot disarm, keypads freeze, stuck in alarm

It sounds like one of your peripheral devices (like your keypads and 4219) is garbling the data flow. They're all connected to the data lines at Terminals 4, 6, and 7 on the Vista-15P. If one device is sending garbled signals, it blocks signals from all the devices. If the system is Armed when...

    Caddx NX-6

What Bluejets said is basically good advice. What's showing at the Keypad is that there is a Trouble condition (not an alarm) on that zone. If the Trouble won't reset at the keypad, then it's probably still in Trouble---whatever that means, for whatever device(s) is/are on whatever zone you're...

    scantronic alarm 9800

Are you talking about changing the backup battery in a Scantronic 9800 Central Statioin Receiver, or are you working with some home alarm model of control panel? They are completely different animals. I only ask this because sometimes a user will home in on the word "Alarm", and assume all...

    Home made battery packs

Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth because I've seen this too many times among novices. Why would anyone solder D cells together when there are readily available holders to combine most common cell sizes? Soldering would make sense if you want to put it together as cheaply as possible and it's...

dsc 5010 control panel replacement smoke detectors

Somebody probably makes a combo unit, but you might want to locate sound and strobe in different places. You generally want the interior siren to be in an inconspicuous location, but the strobe needs to be line-of-sight to a given area. https://www.alarmsystemstore.com

Troubleshooting Ademco alarm with 6128 keypad

This sort of problem with your alarm system is almost never due to a faulty control panel. Statistically, failed panels are the least likely cause of any problem in an alarm system. From the symptom you describe, the most likely cause is a weak (or dead) control panel battery, i.e., the sealed...

dsc 5010 control panel replacement smoke detectors

@intwolt, my apologies for taking so long to reply, but I was involved in traveling. Now that I've arrived, I can catch my breath and answer questions. I'd just suggest searching online for the model number I mentioned. I'd recommend finding an actual alarm systems parts dealer, and not eBay...

dsc 5010 control panel replacement smoke detectors

    (1) The DSC PC5010 Control Panel supports pretty much any 2-wire smoke sensor that is made for alarm systems. I happen to favor the System Sensor brand, whose 2-wire model with built-in sounder is model # 2WTA-B: https://www.systemsensor.com/en-us/Pages/2WTA-B.aspx It requires no polarity...

    Ademco 4110 dc fail

@Markymo, I don't know what you mean by "dc fail". If you're referring to a display on your keypad, are you sure it isn't "FC" (=Fail to Communicate) being displayed? It's been a long time since I worked with a 4110--I think they came out around '90 and I don't recalled seeing one in over 10...

    Waterproof low voltage circuit needed

Okay, I'm stymied as to how an indicator light can remain lighted when all power to the circuit has been removed. I'm dying to see a solution to this one. Now it the indicator could be some kind of mechanical flag, I might take a shot at it; but OP has stipulated an LED remain...
