    Faulty 9VDC Power Supplies

Will the coil from the other power supply work? Do these coils have specific values and what is the purpose of the coil? Remember I'm going through a learning process here.

    Faulty 9VDC Power Supplies

So I should replace this capacitor anyway....will the higher voltage work without problems? And what about the coil?

    Faulty 9VDC Power Supplies

OK. Did some excavation and one of the coils is broken off from the base and was held in place by hot glue so I'm sure this could be the problem. I checked my spare parts bins and found another power supply (24VDC) which has a similar sized coil so......can I use this coil? I also pulled the...

    Faulty 9VDC Power Supplies

Hi Edd and everyone else! I was off island for the weekend for a wedding gig and got back in yesterday. Here's the thing....I can do basic repairs, tracing, testing etc. but Edd!!! What did you try to explain to me??? That just shot straight over my head and I am totally clueless as to what you...

    Faulty 9VDC Power Supplies

Right!! Got two of the three defective units repaired, re-assembled and fully functional. However......... one power supply still has problems, no DC output. I changed out the cap on this PS also but it probably has another problem. I've taken a close look at it and I don't see anything...

    Faulty 9VDC Power Supplies

Backward 3rd. World Caribbean island. Beautiful island though, Trinidad. Well, here's the update. I pulled out some old blown PCB's and I found some with 470uf 16V 105 deg. capacitors, so i pulled out one, soldered it into the defective PCB, powered up and voila!!! No more flashing!! Thanks so...

    Faulty 9VDC Power Supplies

So I can use a higher microfarad value? 470uf as you mentioned above? But the voltage should be 16V right? If I find a replacement, I know they're polarized and they will have to be put back in the correct polarity.

    Faulty 9VDC Power Supplies

Pulled one. 330mF 16V 105 Deg. I checked all the available parts stores and none have the values. Any replacement options as per different values?

    Faulty 9VDC Power Supplies

Thanks! That was a quick response! I've narrowed the problematic units down to 3 in total and I've checked all 3 units with an alternative power supply and all function properly with this power supply so these three definitely have faulty power supplies. I'm assuming this capacitor will be the...

    Faulty 9VDC Power Supplies

Hi all, I have a few LED spotlights that are constantly flashing on and off. From experience I know this normally means a faulty power supply so I pulled one apart and the power supply is very small (62MM x 30MM) and the input is 100~240VAC and the output is 9VDC feeding 7 1W LED doides (2 red...

    FOG MACHINE REMOTE CONTROL PROBLEM

"Dreadfully roughly". LOL!!! I didn't worry to clean up the pcb after I removed the switches. Sorry. I checked the switches for continuity and they're fully functional. The remote control is the problem because the machine works fine with another identical remote. As far as my ability (noting...

    FOG MACHINE REMOTE CONTROL PROBLEM

Not sure. I just think the board looks a little scorched below the ZD1. That's why I mentioned it.

    FOG MACHINE REMOTE CONTROL PROBLEM

Hi guys, I have an Antari Z-1200 II fog machine with a problematic remote that continuously outputs once the unit reaches operating temperature. As you can see from the pictures, the unit can be set to output via a timer or continuously or manually. However, the remote is not functioning...

    Martin MP-2000 Fog Machine problem

The PCB in question was tested on a known working unit so I'm pretty sure that the heater's fine. I will however, take some measurements and post the results just to be sure.

    Martin MP-2000 Fog Machine problem

Hi guys, I haven't gotten any feedback so far but I've made some headway with this unit. It seems that the 110VAC/10.5VAC power supply is faulty and it's only outputting 3.75VAC so I found a suitable replacement off another PCB and swapped it out. I then powered it up and the unit seemed to...

    Martin MP-2000 Fog Machine problem

Hi Martaine2005, I tried the problematic PCB with a remote from a working machine which came in to repair a burnt out heater lead. It's simply a process of unscrewing some screws from the back plate and disconnecting the pump, heater and sensor leads and the entire plate with the PCB comes out...

    Martin MP-2000 Fog Machine problem

Hi guys, I'm back with another faulty unit. This time it's a Martin MP-2000 fog machine, a really big unit used to fill large stages and clubs with dense fog. The unit consists of a remote control which plugs into the PCB and a 110V heating element and a 110V pump which pumps the fog fluid into...

LED Driver unit with no output

OK. I'll wait for some more feedback on both threads. I'd appreciate and views or workarounds on the other thread. It's a great piece of equipment and it's sitting down in pieces waiting on a solution.
