    Looking for Tektronix Manuals

I see :) well I'll do another search in my bookmarks.... I know I've seen user manuals for some of Tektronix scopes but I can't recall where, if I find them I'll let you know

    Variable AC Dummy Load

Here is a schematic of a factory made dummy load from 1-32KW to much I guess  ;D ofcourse it can be scaled down but the problem is still there on how to make those power resistors to fit your needs ::) http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr

Check this link also, not sure if it's still there... http://www.edaboard.com/ftopic135574.html

    Looking for Tektronix Manuals

Hi Zeppelin! I don't know if you meant service or user manuals but here is a link to 2465B service manual and I think 2430A can be downloaded from Tektronix but not sure. http://bama.sbc.edu/tektroni.htm

    TV tx

Audioguru what do you think? As I see it the transmitter has several faults, Q1 wrong way should work as a switch and key the transmitter, Q2 should be a NPN and for the final amplifier why it shouldn't work in class C  ::)

Hi rybitski! Check this out: http://demo.apogee.net/foe/ftssph.asp

    See what I make?

Hi Zeppelin! This is the way they do it (see attached JPG) but I'm also interested in same question you directed to hotwaterwizard.

    Variable AC Dummy Load

Hmmm third post in a row  ;D Dummy loads I've built has been for RF and purely resistive, some of them has been air cooled or liquid cooled by oil and I have one which is made of two copper wires in salt/water solution (not for internal use  ;D) that give 50ohms. Xenobius here is a link to...

    Variable AC Dummy Load

Ldanielrosa that's an good idea cold resistance of the bulbs results in high inrush current but on the other hand these relays should manage to cope this surge otherwise they will be useless in some applications.

    Variable AC Dummy Load

I remeber those big resistor packs they used to load heavy diesel generators when I worked in SAF, they were air cooled but represented only fixed loads not variable. I don't know if it is possible to wind own high power resistors with kanthal, alkrothal or nikrithal, honestly never tried with...

Very welcome to our forum/company MIC20, please read posts above everything is in there!!

    Bigginers Handbook

Hi hat! logan_dslasher posted the link where you can download the book just above your post. Good luck!  ;)

    Variable AC Dummy Load

Hi Xenobius! I'm real curious  ;D sounds like you are dealing with high power, what are you doing? What is the frequency, mains or higher and what is the maximum power the dummy load have to withstand?

    Help with transformer

There must be something I've missed  ??? Where did you get 3,5 Amps? mrgjc I would really want to get hold of that formula you used to calculate those 3,5A  ;)

    Measuring current

That was real interesting, searched on google for "Hall-Effect Sensors measure dc current" and found this: http://www.allegromicro.com/datafile/0704-015.pdf

    Help with transformer

Hi nutty boy! I can tell you right away.. it's impossible, it can be everything from a few mA to several amps  ::) No one can possibly tell you that if you don't tell us what kind of transformer you have it would just be a huge guess to estimate from one clue "12 volts" How big is the...

    H8V.93 Diode help

That's possible but the H8V.93 seems to be part of the snubber so probably not a zener, I'll have to check the circuit again but not tonight it's friday and it's way to hot and I'm thirsty too  ;D

    H8V.93 Diode help

Hi Stig and welcome to this forum! No haven't found any sub yet the project has been on ice for a while  ;D there is also one more blown component and that is the thermal fuse which is open. Good that someone reminded me :) I'll start up again and if I find any sub for this diode I'll let you know.

    rf coil

Well that is a hard to tackle circuit I would say, to detect rf is one thing but discriminate between two cell phones make things a lot more difficult. As I understand (and what audioguru said) every cell phone has its own ID and when the base is calling one of the cell phones it answer, here I...

    rf coil

Sorry I haven't read the other thread arsal_uet wrote. Audiguru if that's the case a detector is a simple solution but keep in mind that it will also detect every time the cell phone talk with the base don't you think? ;D MODERATOR EDIT: I have now merged the topics into one 5-3-2006
