Regenerative power in induction motor ( braking resistor)

Haven't seen any details about your project so I can't know, but the first that stroke me is that you probably have negative timing when running backwards.

    Identify smd inductor

Hi. I'm kind of interrested in how you concluded with a defect inductor. Internal failure of inductors is very rare - it is more common that the driver circuit that feeds the inductor is the cause of failure. About 008 (sure it isn't 800 top down?) that probably means that the inductance should...

Identifying Component - SATA Drive Bay

I have a couple of thoughts about this after seing the pictures, about what might be the reason - if there is any exept for internal failure of chip or simple overheating because of no working fan. What in my mind seems to be the biggest possible cause, is that the little circuit board must...

Identifying Component - SATA Drive Bay

Can you elaborate a bit more excactly where this chip is mounted? Inside a drive bay? Is that a variant that is not attached to the rest of the casing? Do you have a bigger picture - one that show the whole case included the placement of the bay you're talking about.

Resistors, Capacitors, Zener diodes... Why the funny values?

Its because the values increases slightly exponentially for each step.

    Zener Diode identification help

If you're sure that it really is a zener, you can always get a DC voltage source at, say 20 volts and a 10k resistor connected in series. Measure the voltage over the device and see what voltage it sets to. That would give you an idea of it's voltage rating.

Meaning of switched jack socket pins

The same, but middle contact isn't there and the tip is signal.

Meaning of switched jack socket pins

When the plug is held so it point to right, the connections is: Leftmost (biggest surface area): Ground Middle: Left channel Right (tip of connector): Right channel.

    Newbie needs assistanse

Can you post a picture of the unit - there should be three visible terminals or wires according to the drawing. Have you any previous experience using breadboards?

    IGBT current limit

Armed by a pen in my hand, I find it impossible (without much guessing) to draw any circuit by your description.

    Help with diode OR gate

you don't want to use diodes on car light because the light will be noticeable weaker.

    Help with diode OR gate

For 6 amps I would strongly recommend using relays instead of diodes.

    Help with diode OR gate

If you mean two diodes in parallell followed by a resistor, the minimum and max resistance depends on the feeding source before and the reciving circuit after. Also the direction of the diode might reverse if the opposite side of the resistor swap between ground and Vcc. However that would only...

AC circuit voltage can be described using a sine wave with the equation??

Here is the output curve, compared with a similar one without phase shift: It is much easier to understand by seeing the function curve.

Proper method to disconnect cable lugs

Oh behold: I just found a connector with same kind of cable lugs - exept that the rubber is transparent, I found it possible to press at the correct spot on the heat shrink tube to get the cable lugs to bend the locking tab and release it with little force :)

    pots in parallel

So - your problem as far I understand is that the voltage out from each pot doesn't reach maximum or minimum level? What kind of pots are you using? Simulation or real world circuit? Is there any resistance in serie with P1 or P5 in your schematic that doesn't appear on the image?

Proper method to disconnect cable lugs

Thanks for the english help The reason why I would use a drill - I do have a mini-drill, just as the Dremel exept it's a different brand. Using this I hope I could save the cable lugs too - the wires is unusual flexible so I want to save those too. With a coarse grained tip, I will remove...

Proper method to disconnect cable lugs

Well, if there is a locking tab that is holding back - I see that it may be very difficult to pull the cable lugs off. There is one more twist on this problem - the cable lugs is covered by shrinking rubber (don't know if that is the correct term), so there is no way of getting access to those -...

Proper method to disconnect cable lugs

Hi. Today I was trying to save the power switch from a electrical owen. The power switch had 6 contacts, each had a flat cable lug mounted. Problem was - I had to use force in order to pull the cable lugs off, and when I pulled off the last one - the contact point on the switch broke off...

    power supplies in parallel?

I'll suggest a little modification/addition to the suggestion of using 3 separate power supply. On each of the 3 splitted segments, put the power supply in middle, so that you feed 2x 30A from each power supply. That will cause less voltage drops along the cable and you can use a smaller cable too.
