    Simulator Simon

Google is your friend, and while this search was just so easy (search term: Simon Simulator; this was the 1st result) you can develop real skills which will help you all your life. I sometimes think of running search workshops. The biggest thing for people to learn seems to be just asking the...

Nice one Dave and Ahmed - I hope I get to see how this comes out.

LEDs (and diodes?) have CONSTANT voltage?

:) You'll still need to drive the led's with a current rather than a voltage. For the same control you'd need 4 x the resistance and 4 x the voltage.

laser transmitting sound over 1 mile

:) A very good practical worker with an excellent knowledge of physics and access to a decent workshop might succeed at low cost in a few days. A beginner might spend huge sums and several months, and blind himself or someone else - all for no result. To build such a project requires knowledge...

    Help identifying chip

Looking at http://images.alldatasheet.com/semiconductor/electronic_parts/datasheet/195737/DALLAS/DS28E01-100.GIF, from what I can see through the blur, "No" is probably the answer. I google image searched your product codes and guessed which chip. The only one.

If the potential along some axis for damage greater than you can afford exists, you need insurance against such damage.

    LH2715 Advanced Micro Devices

:) We're getting toward the hard, concentrated stuff near the bottom of the barrel: There's a pretty good chance the data sheet is held privately by a person I know in Wellington, New Zealand. However, it would be a fairly large effort, and he would need a convincing motive. His child has needs...

To shunt or not to shunt?

:) Hi I believe you want to use this meter to measure 2 or 3 mA. No shunt resistor is needed in that application. However you'll only be using 10% to 15% of the meter's full range, which seems to me a bit of a waste.

power supply for a printed resistive flexible heater

aww Duke Any 3D shaped resistor, reproduced in a scaled-down version, has higher resistance. But I accept the telling-off. :)

    Where to buy ?

Hi :) Here's a link to some people who use that sort of thing all the time: http://www.rcrotorz.com.au/ It was Australia you wanted? Some of the technology is interdicted and cannot be sent to certain countries.

power supply for a printed resistive flexible heater

Fortunately, the smaller the resistor (all other things being equal), the higher the resistance. The photograph I found at the link showed only the burnt remains of what must have been the lights you want to make.

power supply for a printed resistive flexible heater

Hi :) For something to glow red hot it must have reached a temperature of 500*C to 800*C. But the question of how much energy is required to maintain your resistor at that temperature goes far beyond electronics. The material which is used to make the heater elements; the thickness of that...

    Bose Lifestyle 5 stereo fault.

:) I decided to take a productive approach. This thing was causing me nowt but grief. Weeks ago, I lost hope of gaining joy from the unit; today I got rid of it. The repair shop called me this morning in response to my email, saying they weren't interested in trying to repair the stereo any...

Ahh well... Between BOSE and the repair shop and myself we have determined that it's a write-off. Thanks for your time.

    Bose Lifestyle 5 stereo fault.

Hi Guys :) I bought my Bose Lifestyle 5 a few months ago and didn't get much of a chance to use it for a while. It was in somebody else's hands while they "looked after it carefully" for me, and within an hour of very moderate usage once it had been returned to me it had failed catastrophically...
