    The field strength meter should be about 1m away from the transmitter antenna. You should not be getting V/m, it should be more like mV/m.

    The tank is underground. Bit hard to see a tube. You could try using something similar to a fuel tank gauge but on a larger scale.

    We current use ULN2003 chips for a very similar application and they work very well.

    You could use something like a UNL2003 darligton driver chip. It has 7 outputs. Would give you more combinations than you could ever need.

    If this is a standard FM band transmitter then I would say they are air wound. I would wind about 10 turns of 22AWG enameled copper wire on a 4 to 5 mm former. Then remove the former. It is about the size of the coils in the transmitter I have.

    Thats not quite correct. Unless otherwise specified all power measurements (RMS or Peak) are referenced to a sinusoidal waveform. PMPO is about the only power measurement that doesn't.     As far as I know all memory sticks have a micro on them to control the read write of the memory. It also has ID info to tell the PC what it is. So I guess the answer would be yes, if you know how to write the code and interface it.

    ADC chips like that can be interfaced directly to the port. You may need a buffer chip for some of them. You should then be able to read the data from the port with some software.

    You don't need to use an AVR or PIC. There many many ADC and DAC chips on the market. Analog Devices has heaps that will do the job. Browse their site for datasheets.
