    What's wrong with circuit?

The N wire does not move at all but the L wire rises to 180v in the positive direction and then falls to minus 180v. The circuit is constantly flipping over and back again at the rate of 60 times per second. This what all the components are doing and that is the voltage they are seeing. When the...

    Bench Power Supply?

"I guess we're not working on the same type of projects" OH??? Please tell me what project needs 40v @ 15 amp.

    What's wrong with circuit?

You are losing 1,000 volts across the first diode and dropping 0.7v across the second diode.

    Bench Power Supply?

I want a car that does 190km/h, uses 2 litres of fuel per 100kms and costs $2,000. I have no use for it but it one of my demands. Just like a 15 amp 40v power supply. I have never needed it in 50 years, but it is one of my IMMEDIATE DEMANDS. Just use a 12v $6.00 4.5AHr battery.

Does anyone used 2835 Constant Current LED Strip before?

It is not a constant current LED strip. What the Chinese manufacturer is trying to say is this: You must supply it with exactly 24v to achieve the specifications mentioned in the data sheet. You can supply it with 18v to 24v to get the particular brightness you want.

Crafstman Lawn Tractor Reads 35VAC Across Battery

Steve, this discussion is going right over your head. You are completely missing the complexities of the issue.

Using 220v inverter from 48V battery

12v batteries are so cheap that you should use only a 12v battery. 150 watt is more than 10 amps and you will need a 60 amp-hour battery. This is a car-battery and a half.

Crafstman Lawn Tractor Reads 35VAC Across Battery

"I guess Colin has just undiscovered flux gate magnetometers. Or perhaps because they're so new Colin's not aware of them. I'm sure he'll come up with another reason he's right though. He always is." Don't you understand: The current 5 minutes ago may be charging the battery. The current...

Crafstman Lawn Tractor Reads 35VAC Across Battery

It is not what we call "AC." It could be PWM or any shape and no meter will interpret it. The only way to get a reading is to have a very low-value shunt 050 and a thermal detector embedded and have it calibrated. That's why you cannot simply change the battery for another brand or another...

Crafstman Lawn Tractor Reads 35VAC Across Battery

As I said before, what you are reading is totally irrelevant. The only thing that is important is the current. And this is a very difficult thing to measure. 0.2v difference is VERY IMPORTANT because the battery is very much like a zener diode. As you increase the voltage to it, the current...

    14.8v @ 16 amps down to 12v @ 8 amps

8W is less than 1A. Use 1A diodes. Make sure the 14.8v does not rise. You can use a 5w 12v zener and 1A fuse. If it blows you know the 14.8v has risen. Just like Jesus.

Crafstman Lawn Tractor Reads 35VAC Across Battery

The alternator is NOT just a simple AC generator. It has a feedback system that produces the magnetic field and this is adjustable by the feedback current so that the generator does not produce too much current when working at high RPM. For this reason you cannot measure any of the voltages and...

    Physical difference between low/high transformers?

The difference has been omitted in all of the above. The core of a low frequency transformer has lamination and the magnetic flux that is passed the core from the winding, passes across these laminations and produces a small current in each of them. This current produces a small amount of heat...

TV transmitter - picture slides vertically

By looking at the waveform above you can see the sync pulses are on the bottom edge of the signal. This means the transmitting transistor must be able to accept a wide band and if it only accepts a narrow band, the sync pulses are not transmitted. It seems you are lacking both horizontal and...
