    Demolition Engineer for WHO?????

I appreciate helping legit people with electronic-related questions. That requestor just seemed awfully suspicious to me. I think this is a great forum for helping a lot of people who need help because there are so many highly skilled members who go out of their way to share what they know with...

    Demolition Engineer for WHO?????

Heck, I don't know. Would it be that improbable that government agencies might want to see what websites offered 'demolition' detonation advice to anonymous entities? What demolition engineer asks 'neophytes' how a disposable camera flash can be used for that purpose? People talk about scammers...

    Demolition Engineer for WHO?????

Am I the only one here who is a little suspicious of the post from a 'demolition engineer' who wants to know how to make a 'bridgewire detonator'? '...like for example how do disposable camera use a flash, …." Is MI-6 phishing? FSB? CIA?, Al-Qaeda maybe? What the heck kind of an explosives...

I didn't try to source the part, but suspect it has a proprietary part number on it, owned by the toy manufacturer.

Save yourself a lot of time and trouble and replace the bad volume pot.

What thermal fuse do I need.

In support of what Harald said about treating both wires as potentially live: Assumedly licensed electricians here in the US wire outlets to the correct standard. But a lot of do-it-yourself homeowners here replace outlets in their houses (and probably elsewhere, at work and etc...) without...

    Protect E03, Good Voltage output

Your error code tells you that you have a power supply problem. If you see bloated caps, I'd replace them and see what happens. You can read a negative voltage on your analog meter by reversing the positive and negative leads. I would assume when your error code kicks in, it disables your power...

Whistler ws1065 police scanner reception problems

The most obvious thing to check first is your antenna input connection. Have you moved it around lately? Wiggle the antenna connector if you're using an external input. If this is an internally mounted antenna, make sure it's screwed-in tight. Check the obvious first, then decide if you have a...

Sony CD/DVD player won't power on after opening case

It may be out the door now, but like Martaine2005, I would think you knocked something loose, or maybe pinched one of those cables causing an open circuit in one of the wires.

With respect, in what way would YOU re-use these?

If you're not going to build your own power plant, I'd consider cleaning them, maybe painting them, to make some kind of artsy decoration for inside or outside of the house. A lot of people have home-made lawn ornaments where I am. You think they look cool, share the enthusiasm.

    Convector heater component ident

Hopefully, the manufacturer used that terminal connector to mark the rating of that thermal fuse, ….. (so you have what you need). I wanted to mention that the thermal fuses USUALLY have the value printed on them, BUT they are also color-coded with the epoxy holding the lead in place at the end...

    Magneto kill terminal...(2)

That 3rd wire is to ground the magneto to turn it off and stop the blower. Wire it TO the switch, so that when you throw the switch, the magneto is grounded and turns the blower off. If you ground that third wire, without going through the kill switch, the blower won't start to begin with.

Onkyo TX SR701 in protection mode

Don't know your unit, but have had 2 friends with Onkyo amps that did similar issues. Darned things have virtually no good protection circuitry for this problem. Both of the ones I fixed had blown small capacitors in the output circuits. I'd start looking there, and if you can't find the...

No power, no led light. Rear projection tv

Let me think. Your fuses are OK (I hope you found all of them). You heard a hiss and a pop, and found a blown 22ufd cap, which you replaced. But you still have no power and no LED light. Yes, it would seem to me that something else in the 22ufd cap circuit is not quite right. I would be looking...

No power, no led light. Rear projection tv

Trace connections to your blown cap. You probably lost a semiconductor and saw a current surge through that cap.
