Trying to identify something that resembles a transformer!

Thanks for replying, hexreader & kellys_eye! It looks then very useful but a little dangerous. Where can I find more useful info on them?

Trying to identify something that resembles a transformer!

I don't know from where it was taken nor when, but what surprises me is that it shows only 3 cables but physically looks like a typical xformer. What it might be and what possible uses it might have? See attached photo... The characters shown are (from top to bottom): RD 220 V \ BN 115 V \ BL...

What app is good & free for electronic design on Android platform?

I'm using a Kindle Fire Gen V tablet. Think I'm able to download from Google's App store AWA from the Amazon one.

    Unresolved issue related to power-in

Thanks for replying! I'm curious about the program you're using for the above diagrams: what's its name? Is it a free app?

    Unresolved issue related to power-in

Below I'm including an attachment containing a photo of a diagram of the circuit in question here and two questions about it: 1) what voltage should be expected to be delivered to the grid? 2) what's the process of charging C3 to the voltage needed? Thanks in advanced!

    Unresolved issue related to power-in

I've looked at the diagram above trying to imagine the ORIGINAL circuit (220 VAC input) connected to a power source for the sake of understanding the theory of operation but failed to do so, thinking of a sine wave as the source. Can you help me understand the first few half-cycles?

You now have everything ok, Ed. Now, how to proceed, including another multiplying stage?

    Unresolved issue related to power-in

Pad A has the line-in cable soldered at the hole for C2, R1 & R2 are also soldered there. Pad B has indeed those four conns.. Pad C is as you state above. Pad D also is as you put it above. Pads E & F are right as you put it there.

    Unresolved issue related to power-in

    Pad A has 3 conns.: Line in, C2, R1& R2. Pad B " 2 " : Line in, C1 & Lamp 1. Pad C " 1 " : Lamp 2. " D " 3 " : C1, D1 & D2. " E " 4 " : R2, D2, R3 & C3. " F " 3 " : R3, D1 & C3. The grid elements are...

    Unresolved issue related to power-in

I started to write a short message to be included but the attached photo was upside down so deleted it, went to edit the photo (rotate) and re-attach it but the text included at the beginning dissappeared. When I then tried to re-write it the text started to wrap itself at the beginning, making...

    Unresolved issue related to power-in

Both red cables only go to lamp's connector. Aluminum wire 5 goes to the second wire of the grid if you look at it standing vertically. In any case, there're only 2 wires for electrocussion not three, so there's no center wire. The 3 ? around 4 & 3 are the aluminum wires end of the grid and the...

    Unresolved issue related to power-in

In relation to wire 5 it is one of the two grid wires and is the inner one. I suspect that when you refer to the AC input wires above you're referring to a future scheme and not to the actual one because it's probably intended for 220 VAC, so there's no neutral, both are alive and kicking! The ...

    Unresolved issue related to power-in

With the purpose of adding to it another stage for doubling the voltage to the grid was that I tried to make a diagram first but after several trials found it difficult to understand and went to some sites in relation to voltage multipliers but never found a way to re-arrange my diagrams to...

    Unresolved issue related to power-in

A niece of mine bought two mosqitoes zapper more than a year ago & gave one of these to her mother. My sister gave me that unit about 4-6 months ago because it never worked for her. Have no idea if my niece's still exists or someday worked for her. The thing is that I openned it to see what was...

    Unknown components

I'm sorry for the lack of quality on the photo. I tried with a magnifying lense but it was worst. For sure, I'm not asking about the electrolytic capacitor, it never occured to me that someone might focus on it. Think that the combination of the photo and the components codes made it simple...

    Unknown components

I've openned 3 different remote controls for tv's and don't know what kind of component are the following: <800C or G944>, <4.00xL> and <T4.006e>. Have googled those codes (in fact, used Yahoo search engine, Google and Duchduckgo) but found nothing. Also, have used specialized sites like...

Emerson MW8779W doesn't heat but turns on!

I've found another xformer very similar to the original and tried with it but the fuse was blown again. After inspecting around found that the HV-diode wasn't screwd in place but touching the chassis firmly while the 2 previous tests: could this lead to the blown fuse? I, after so many months...

Emerson MW8779W doesn't heat but turns on!

Yesterday, I put another Magnetron (not with the same physical characteristics but screwable in place but twisted 90°) that, prior to any connection, measured ok but the fuse was blown immediately. The model of the substitute was different from the original and the size of it is bigger. What...

Does someone here know what data a Chromecast delivers to the internet?

Have seen a Youtube video where there's a broken tablet from which it has been taken a little board containing the wifi circuitry and, after soldering some cables, it's connected to the usb port of a laptop and used as an external wifi dongle. I know that the laptop was running a Windows version...

Does someone here know what data a Chromecast delivers to the internet?

My main reason is that I download a half-hour video weekly for showing to a sister where there's no internet access. She was given a Chromecast but is practically unuseful, so I was wondering how to cast those videos to her tv even without internet access point. Technically, I don't see any...
