Morse code led without a micro controller

Ok so I'm attempting to make an emergency beacon ,similar to the one I was issued before I went over seas that just sat on a 9v battery it flashed an Ir bulb. I was thinking of making one similar build but making it flash sos in Morse code/cw. I have vague idea of how to accomplish it maybe...

Trying to get this circuit to work on breadboard

Thanks that actually helps alot. I actually popped an emitter bulb not paying attention when I first set it up on my bread board

Trying to get this circuit to work on breadboard

I found this online. It seemed fairly straightforward however when I put it together on a bread board it just constantly Beeps and the led stays lit up. Thought it was just me having problems with this but I guess tapendra mandal has a YouTube video on his drawling his works but it seems others...

Newbie needs help identifying correct capacitor replacement

You might also tear apart a few old computer power supplys before buying your capacitors I have quite a few that are 2200uf 105°c and that's where I scavenged them from sometimes it's worth the look but definitely get the bad pieces off the board first Like I said sometimes the damage is just...

Newbie needs help identifying correct capacitor replacement

Ok this actually looks worse than it might actually be so your first order of business would be to remove all the old destroyed parts and pieces being as careful as possible not to destroy the board take plenty of pictures along the way. The pictures serve a few purposes to let you know what...

Is it possible to etch pre drilled proto board

Lol I love making life more difficult for myself it tends to be fun to learn and listen to the wife tell me that I get nuttier by the day....actually she doesn't say that she just gets mad that I spend the money she wanted to spend.... or something like that I don't know I wasn't really paying...

Newbie needs help identifying correct capacitor replacement

First from the looks of the single picture that the capacitors might not be the only thing fried. If you have a soldering iron then you need something to decoder those parts off solder wick or a solder pump. Post a few more pictures because you may have other parts that need to be replaced and...

Is it possible to etch pre drilled proto board

Ok yea I did not think that one through all the way... ( didn't Irish my coffee enough before typing that) I was actually wondering of essentially electroplating the matrix boards Though the real problem from that comes from there being no metal to electroplate on the board to begin with...

    Looking for a component

Definitely fate! But Shrtrnd is right it's best to run one till it experiences problems to help minimize salt/mineral build ups Unless your plan is that when they switch over you're going to be doing monthly/quarterly cleaning/maintenance on them but honestly that may be more work than it's worth

Looking for a small project to fill void

Now that's something I can get on 'board' with... Haha.... Ok so my humor is a bit dry but "Now for something completely different" !!!!! You wouldn't happen to have a schematic for the intercom in question would you?

Looking for a small project to fill void

Does anyone know a good small project that can be shoved onto a small (1 1/2" by 1 3/4") board Preferably something involving 555, 556, or 358 chips if not that cool too just trying to use up old stock.

Is it possible to etch pre drilled proto board

I have a few pieces of proto/circuit board that are predrilled but have no solder points on either side. My question is can I etch these boards and if so what would be the best method do so They came from an old radio shack that was going out of business I didn't realize that they didn't have...

Wireless proximity detector that goes off when blocked

Lol Nah darn construction guys snatch them up to quick I'll have to play around with that idea though.... the one with the sound that is. flow rate could vary if one of the flow tubes gets plugged.

Wireless proximity detector that goes off when blocked

HaHa I like you bud you hit the nail on the head with the human body!!! Anyway woodpellets is one of the things I'm trying to detect absence of. the other however is me wanting to make a simple module to stick in a wheat/bean drill that is pulled behind a tractor I dislike the old style float...

Wireless proximity detector that goes off when blocked

While that's an outstanding idea if I wanted to make sure grandma takes her pills. I'm going more along the lines of the hopper is almost empty. essentially something that goes off and tells me "hey dum dum put more pellets in me so you can stay warm" But most proximity sensors are set to go off...

Wireless proximity detector that goes off when blocked

I'm fairly new to the field of circuit building. I noticed that there are many simple proximity detectors that can be made really cheaply, however there all of these detect when objects get close I'm trying to build a very simple circuit that will be just as cheap but detects when an object is...
