Foot pedal speed control to handle pull switch?

An experienced electrician would be a good start, yes. Be aware there are some who only know how to wire a house with zero experience with motors and the like.

    Rebuilding tube radio

Rechargable would be the way to go.....lithium as used in rc is reliable. Via an appropriate regulator. Still, you have to get it working first up.

Foot pedal speed control to handle pull switch?

It's a variable carbon stack in series with the motor and will be same voltage rating as the motor, not 6v. Best advice, given your lack of knowledge, , leave it alone.

Foot pedal speed control to handle pull switch?

Show existing speed controller with case open. Reason being older units can be 220v carbon stack design in series with the motor.

    Rebuilding tube radio

They will last about as long as it took to put them there given they will be trying to drive the HV as well as the valves heaters given the 9v has around 580mAh capacity. Makes a battery replacement cost up around AUS$35 for , at best when working, of about 60 hours (some say) maximum before it...

    Transformer overvoltage

Transformers typically go high on no or low low current just as they will go low voltage on overloads. Doesn't mean there is any fault, just they are being operated outside of their design parameters.

    Viewsonic VX3276-2K-mhd monitor Power failure

Power boards are inherently the centre of failure. Components there work hard under usually hot conditions. OK...no soot...what about the rest of my queries? No short on the main q100 mosfet?.....diode shorts....... capacitor esr gone high?

    Viewsonic VX3276-2K-mhd monitor Power failure

Maybe....maybe not....Q100 looks like soot mrrk from beneath. There could be more power sections as the board shown only has 12v out. What readings do you get there to begin with?

RING LCD torch misbehaving - is it saveable?

From current info, charger is kaput or "new battery " is knackered el cheapo.($3 from Amazon or similar ???) Looks mean next to zero in electrical, it's why we use test equipment. In this instance the test equipment does not have to be anything special. A $20 multimeter and a few loose...
