    Sony STR-AV260 Receiver No Sound

Maybe, maybe not as we have no idea what that actually is or it's specs. or if indeed any spec matches your old stereo phono input. What you might want to try is looking at the phono plug socket as they usually have an integrated switch to isolate other signals when phono is plugged in. Then...

Making a LED bulb to produce a faint light ?

That would depend on the level of whatever "faint illumination" you determine it to be. I have yet to see a calculation that involves resistance, voltage, current = "faint illumination" Apart from that, unless this "LED" is designed to run on 120v AC, that it will do so without destroying...

    Sony STR-AV260 Receiver No Sound

Very few bluetooth inputs from the 80's period on stereos. I don't see any reference to bluetooth input on the front panel of an image from Google. What did you plug in to the phono input......??? Sounds like it might have blown the guts out of something due to incompatible input. Apart from...

What is the value of this resistor (or is it possibly not a resistor)?

A blown resistor value (sometimes) can be found by reference to a "good" end with one multimeter probe, and scratching off the coating on the other to get "a reading". This reading then can be "guessed" by proportioning the length of the good reading to the dud bit and add together.

Using a DC voltage to drive a relay to interrupt a power supply

Are you sure you want negative logic? If so you need to consider what will happen when the mains supply goes down.

LED bulb glows even after switched off - Can capacitor help?

Many of these are related to leakage current on the neutral earth in MEN systems. Replace the single pole switch to the light with one that is double pole (active and neutral) if it bothers you.(or get a qualified lecky to check your installation)

How to use low voltage switch for 110V circuit

A quick check on a spec sheet (which you should have supplied to save us the trouble of looking for it) shows they are indeed a low voltage low current sensor. In that instance, a relay operating from low voltage would be required. You also say "110v extension lead" as a load...........you...

Need help to identify a part number

Stab in the dark I'd say you have damaged one/more of the switches which appear to be installed as isolated from the pcb. No idea what the circled item is or why it is circled in the first place.
