Need help with a failed controller for a treadmill.

Let's try again shall we..? With the sensor placed in it's installed position, and a multimeter connected to the two sensor wires on ohms scale, and the pulley rotated by hand, at least one full rotation, does the meter go from open circuit as in photo #2 and #6 above to closed circuit as in...

I need a switch that's switches from primary power to secondary if primary shuts off....

Gets more involved than that. To begin with there needs to be set delays to ensure power is either removed or returned for a given length of time. Then it needs dual contactors both mechanically and electrically interlocked. Exception to the latter is smart control devices costing big bucks and...

I need a switch that's switches from primary power to secondary if primary shuts off....

Sounds like an auto transfer switch for solar or a generator. Problem is, any solar system must be arranged to stand down in the event of power failure. Reason being , the line workers do not want any solar supply being pumped back down the line when they shut it down for maintenance. You can...

Need help with a failed controller for a treadmill.

Yes, I said the same in #14. It may be the magnet is enclosed on the pulley and what you are seeing and showing in the photo could be a counterweight on the opposite side.

Need help with a failed controller for a treadmill.

The number of cables from the controller to the power board could contain many possible forms of communications. Having just 5 cables is no indication of what information can be sent, in or out. Bit confused here...your first photo shows the drive pulley with what appears to be a magnet but you...

Would it need to be conductive for a capacitive sensor...?

Need help with a failed controller for a treadmill.

One would assume the pwm signal would have to come from the control panel given the operator would need to control the speed. Nothing between there and the power board left unconnected in any way..?

Need help with a failed controller for a treadmill.

What about with the sensor disconnected from the board , set the meter on low ohm and roll the pulley over by hand. Only having 2 wires seems to infer it may be simply a reed switch. Is there a magnet imbedded in the pulley anywhere in its peripheral in line with the sensor?

    Heathkit Condenser Checker

Apparently there was an export version with a dual winding primary to accommodate both 110 and 220v. This blokes site has a lot of stuff......... https://www.kevinchant.com/uploads/7/1/0/8/7108231/c-3_manual.pdf

    Tapping leds into 12v radio(Amps)

Unless you tap into the controller box switching the only way the LEDs will turn off is with your key removal position. As for the current draw, Davenn explained that so no need to repeat.

    Tapping leds into 12v radio(Amps)

As Audioguru says, even if you tap the accessory wire, only time the LED string or whatever will be off is when you remove the ignition key in the off position. If you want the LEDs to operate only when the head unit is on, then you need to make internal connections to the same or use some type...

Need help with a failed controller for a treadmill.

Looked for a user manual but no luck so far. What I did notice from your photo of the panel when powered is there is no number shown on the incline section. Wondered if there needs input there from an incline sensor for the motor to initiate run. Most I have seen will run a tiny bit and then...

Is hand sanitizer electrically conductive ?

A capacitive sensor may do the job. I have read where it is necessary to seal the edge of the sensor board with a bit of epoxy though, as the manufacturer missed that bit...

Burned stepper motor driver board in my new Arduino project

The voltage adjustment pot is on the A4988 board itself and is a calculated voltage to give the correct output current limit. Look up any A4988 video on youtube on how to adjust. Calculations are in the data sheet.

Need help with a failed controller for a treadmill.

2 x for that....I bought one of these....saves a lot of time and frigging around. Rechargable in to the bargain, all leads supplied. Was about $23.00 last year but as with many things since the virus hit....gone up mostly due to postage fees. Still, $30.00 not bad for what you get...
